Lady Fancy Nails and TNT CLAWS have joined forces for a second year!

To promote the premiere of Season 2, Lady Fancy Nails has concepted and developed signature looks that pay homage to each iconic character in the CLAWS squad, with Floss Gloss as the official polish sponsor.

  • Each custom nail art design was created by Lady Fancy Nails and inspired by the fierce women leads in CLAWS: Desna (Niecy Nash); Virgina (Karrueche Tran); Polly (Carrie Preston); Quiet Ann (Judy Reyes), and Jennifer (Jenn Lyon).
  • The collaboration will be hitting three US cities this summer for its #ClawsUp Tour: NY, NOLA, and LA.

Lady Fancy Nails x Nike Air Society

In today’s social and political climate, community sustainability is critical. For me, it’s at the root of all that I engage in as a nail artist and educator. It deeply powers my commitment to creating and cultivating spaces that enable marginalized communities to self-actualize and thrive.

This summer I had the opportunity to partner with Chillhouse and Nike Air Society on multiple curated experiences and group workshops centered on creativity, community, and wellness for women. Newly launched, Air Society is a network that serves to connect, inspire, and empower creative-minded women through self-expression and collaboration.

The Nike Air Society collaboration has been powerful because it provides inside access to rich sources of knowledge and perspective for people that are typically, and systemically, excluded from those spaces. In addition to Lady Fancy Nails, I recently co-founded Scope of Work (S.O.W.), a youth organization that aims to close the opportunity gap for underrepresented young people and realize a diverse, impactful creative sector. I’m particularly excited about the Nike Air Society partnership, as it brought together many unique groups of women in meaningful ways that reflected intersecting and core pillars of both Lady Fancy Nails and S.O.W., namely sustainability: of self-care practices that power resiliency and of the creative community itself.

I was honored to explore these themes on a deeper level alongside an interdisciplinary group of women leaders, including Chillhouse founder, Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton; 2016 Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast, Laurie Hernandez; American and World Record Holder Paralympian, Scout Bassett; creator of this year’s winning entry for MoMA and MoMA PS1’s Young Architects Program, Jenny Sabin; OKREAL founder, Amy Woodside; Nike Master Trainer, Kirsty Godso, and Nike Brand Director, Christine Kahm-Silver.

Nike Air Society: A Night of Inspiration @ MoMA PS1

This event brought together women for a night of dialogue, networking, and self-care activities. I had the privilege of speaking on a panel and discussing resiliency in social impact work. 

Nike Presents: Design on Air Workshop with Jenny E. Sabin @ MoMA PS1

Nike Air Society invited S.O.W. to participate in a workshop led by Jenny E. Sabin, the principal architect for the Lumen installation at MoMA PS1. This workshop explored the thinking, design process, and responsive elements that make Lumen.

Nike Air Society Pop Up @ Chillhouse

Nike Air Society's Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton hosted a pop up at her newly founded Chillhouse. I had the pleasure of speaking on a panel about self-care alongside Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton and Kirsty Godso. I also designed nail art looks inspired by the new Nike Air Max 97 that was offered exclusively at the event. 

 

Nike x BK Mile

Nike Air Society invited S.O.W. to run the BK Mile. Leading up to the event, I contributed to Nike's promotional campaign.
